About Baptist Churches

Tradition

Baptist churches emphasize believer's baptism by immersion, the authority of the Bible, and the autonomy of the local congregation. They are one of the largest Protestant traditions worldwide.

What to Expect in Worship

Services typically include hymns or contemporary worship songs, a sermon focused on Bible teaching, prayer, and an offering. Many Baptist churches have both a morning and evening service.

Church Governance

Each Baptist congregation is self-governing. Decisions are made by the members of the local church, and pastors serve at the invitation of the congregation.
